Frydenberg has dropped more budget goss to journalists at the Guardian and SMH, who claim that he *will* announce that this budget will be all about budget repair.

“Crisis level economic support must not become entrenched,” Frydenberg will say in a speech on Friday according to the reports. Apparently Frydenberg “will say that any support for families to address cost of living concerns would need to be limited” according to the Guardian’s report.

Unfortunately for those families struggling, Frydenberg didn’t foresee the need to reduce support when his government brought forward stage 2 of the Personal income tax plan from 1 July 2022 to 1 July 2020 as part of the 2020–21 federal Budget.
